Can I learn how to dance? Anyone can learn how to dance!! If you can walk, you can learn to dance! Do I need a partner? No, you don't need a partner to take dance lessons. Your "partner" is your professional dance instructor. As you gain confidence and are ready to try your new steps, you will have opportunities to dance with other students and teachers on different occasions. What if were a couple? We start our couples together in the beginning to build step pattern knowledge for both the lady and the man. The instruction also gives us the opportunity to develop some lead capability for the man and follow sensitivity for the lady. Can I really learn to dance by taking lessons? ABSOLUTELY!! If you can walk, you can learn how to dance. In, fact you'll be glad to know that everyone can learn to dance well enough to thoroughly enjoy it! The ability to dance is born in each of us. It's just a matter of taking time out of your busy schedule and putting yourself under the guidance of our well trained staff here at American Dance Centers. Once you've done that you'll realize how easy it is and how much fun dancing can be. Do you teach private or group lessons? Yes, we teach both private and group classes. A private lesson is a one on one with an instructor. A group class is taught by one instructor with students who are on the same level. The typical method is to assign an individual teacher to you at first; and, later adding a second teacher who will instruct you sequentially. I have a busy schedule, can I take lessons at any time? You can take lessons at anytime that fits with your schedule. Our hours of operation are Tues 1:00pm - 8:30pm, Wednesday through Saturday 10:00am - 8:30pm and were closed Sunday and Monday. All you have to do is give us a call and let one of our receptionists know what day and time works best for you, and they will schedule your lesson accordingly. Whether it be morning, afternoon, or evening, we have something that works for everyone! How long will it take for me to become a good dancer? The answer to this question depends on several things: 1. your own ability and past experience 2. how good you really want to be 3. how often you visit the studio on a weekly basis We have students that stay with us for years after achieving their initial goal; because they have decided to make dancing a year round hobby. It just all depends on what your looking to achieve in your dancing.
Do you have any social activities? We hold dance parties for our students. There are two kinds of parties that we provide. The first is called the Dance Party, which provides an ideal atmosphere to practice what you are learning within the studio environment. Here, you will dance with your teacher, other teachers and students, as well, This is no embarrassment because everyone is taking dance lessons, and many are beginners just like you! The second type of party is the Dinner Guest Party. At guest parties you have an opportunity to introduce friends or acquaintances to the studio environment, where they too can enjoy the delightful experience you are enjoying. You can also win free lessons by bringing guests!! Are there any other activities I should know about? YES, there are many activities for you to participate in. Two of most exciting are dance competitions and trips! American Dance Centers provides competitions regionally and nationally through the year. The regional events are very lively and bring participants together from relatively close geographical areas. Contests are based upon students age and dance level of instruction. Since 1995 American Dance Centers has held an annual dance challenge in Roanoke each November. At the nationals you meet, mingle and compete with students from all parts of the U.S. and even overseas. Attractive gifts are presented at these national events which are held at popular vacation resorts or large cities. For those who have the time and resources, we do offer trips for our students. You may go a few miles to a well known local resort for the weekend, or you might travel thousands of miles to a foreign country. Eagerly anticipated, a trip brings everyone back exhilarated and refreshed, having enjoyed a wonderful dance holiday with a compatible group of students and staff exclusively from American Dance Centers and other studios from the U.S. The majority of our travel is done through World Promotions which is known for its star treatment since 1984. Is my satisfaction guaranteed? Each lesson is guaranteed. If at any time you are not satisfied with a lesson, and you feel it was the fault of the studio, you will not be charged for that lesson, providing you report the complaint to us at the end of that lesson. How do I get started? To get started we offer our Introductory Special which consists of 6-20 minute private lessons, 1 Group Class and 1 Dance Party for $99.00! Yes you read it correctly $99.00! Regular tuition $194.10 To sign up for the introductory offer, give us a call our receptionists will answer any of your questions and get you scheduled for your 1st lesson!!
